Disability insurance
Security if you become ill and are unable to work
Receive a tax-free monthly payment if you are unable to work due to an accident or illness through our Disability insurance. Payments start after three months of absence.

Your employer pays you sick pay for the first 14 days of you being sick. The Swedish Social Insurance Agency pays your sick pay after that.
That all sounds good. If it wasn’t for the fact that you only receive half of what you earn normally. And if you are unable to work for a longer period of time, that will make a huge difference.
That’s where a Disability insurance comes in handy, by protecting your income in the event of an accident or long-term illness.
Monthly compensation amount
A monthly compensation amount if you are signed off sick for at least 25%. After a waiting period of three months, the compensation is paid monthly, based on the percentage of your sick leave, until you recover (but no longer than 36 months or until you reach the age of 67).
The group agreement specifies which insurance amounts and payment periods you can choose.
A lump sum payment
A lump sum payment, a co-called diagnostics payment, is paid out if you were to be diagnosed with:
- cancer
- heart attack
- stroke
- surgery on the coronary artery
- surgery on the aorta
- surgery on cardiac valve
- kidney failure
- organ transplant
- Addison's disease
- motor neuron disease (ALS)
- multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson’s disease
- Alzheimer’s disease
- systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
The group agreement specifies which insurance amounts and payment periods you can choose.
The compensation from the insurance policy is tax-free.
You can purchase the insurance if you are part of a Euro Accident group agreement and
- have turned 16 years but not 65 years and
- have a permanent residence and are registered in Sweden and
- are entitled to compensation from the Swedish Försäkringskassa and
- and meet the health examination requirements.
The insurance can be purchased up until the day you turn 65 years of age.
This insurance applies up to and including the month of your 67th birthday, or until you are no longer covered by the group agreement for whatever reason.
