Welcome call got Line back on track after sick leave
Dizziness, memory loss, and general discomfort had become part of Line’s daily life, making a sick leave inevitable. Today, she is fully recovered and back at work, thanks to a successful Sustainable employees program at
Euro Accident, which included psychological support and body-focused treatments.
An unexpected call that changed everything
In spring 2023, Line’s phone rang. The number on the screen was unknown. She answered, unaware that this call would become a turning point in her life.
Just weeks before, Line, who works as a social educator at a residential facility, had been signed off work due to stress. After pushing through her symptoms for far too long, she could no longer ignore them. Together with her doctor, she concluded that taking a break was the only option.
"I felt very dizzy and unwell, and my nervous system was under a lot of pressure. I kept forgetting things, and when I got home from work, I had absolutely no energy left" Line recalls.
Shortly after going on sick leave, a new opportunity emerged. Unrelated to her situation, Line’s workplace became a customer of Euro Accident, granting her access to Sustainable employees through the Loss of Earning Capacity Insurance.
Sustainable employees is Euro Accident’s specialized insurance concept that operates across different policies and is not limited to specific coverages. The dedicated Sustainable employees team consists of healthcare specialists who focus entirely on customer health and well-being. They assess, advise, initiate, customize, and follow up on health-promoting programs tailored to each individual’s needs.
And it was a team member from Sustainable employees on the other end of the line when Line picked up the phone that day in May 2023.
"We reach out to all our new customers, welcome them, and introduce them to our unique concept designed to promote health and prevent illness, stress, and poor well-being. At the time we called Line, we were unaware of her sick leave, but the call became the starting point for a successful recovery program," says one of our nurses and a part of the Sustainable employees team.
A tailored recovery plan begins
Together, Line and our nurse developed a personalized plan to help Line regain her health. Through Sustainable employees, Euro Accident offers psychological therapy, but in Line’s case, a body-focused approach was just as crucial.
"I needed help calming my nervous system. As a social educator, I was already familiar with some methods that I believed could help me. I discussed them with Euro Accident, and they were very receptive to my ideas. They allowed me to start a psychomotor therapy program with my former treatment teacher—someone I trusted. That was absolutely essential for me" Line explains.
At the same time, Line gained access to treatment with an osteopath through her Euro Accident health insurance, helping her recover from a torn Achilles tendon. She also received financial support for a gym membership.
"We determined that improving my ability to move was key to my recovery. The various treatments and support I received through Sustainable employees played a huge role in my progress" Line says.
Fully Recovered and Back to Work
After two months of full-time sick leave, Line returned to work in August and was back full-time by early October. She received strong support from her leader, and today, she is working under normal conditions again.
"I feel happy and healthy, and that is largely thanks to Euro Accident and Sustainable employees. The support exceeded my expectations—they were professional, compassionate, and always listened. I felt safe and supported throughout the entire process."
"I highly recommend them, and I have already encouraged several people in my network to seek their help," Line concludes.
