Fast Track - how and why?
If a sick leave is expected to last more than 8 weeks, you, as an employer, can benefit from requesting Fast Track processing by the municipality. This request must be made within the first 5 weeks of the employee’s absence, counted from the first day of sick leave.
With Fast Track, the employee will automatically have their first follow-up meeting with the municipality within 2 weeks of the request—compared to the usual 8-week wait.
Early follow-up allows the municipality to quickly provide relevant support, improving the chances of getting the employee back to work as soon as possible.
Fast Track is a voluntary program, and employees are not required to accept early intervention. Therefore, it is a good idea to discuss the option with the employee before submitting a Fast Track request.
