Adapt you'r leadership to where the employee is on the Stress ladder

If your employee has started to show signs of stress or unhappiness, based on a dialogue with your employee, you can get an indication of which symptoms and situations the employee is experiencing and where the employee is on the stress ladder (figure 1).

It's impotant that you set the stage for a safe, trustfull, open and honest dialogue

In this dialogue, you can talk about how the employee feels and thrives, and where the employee would place himself on the stress ladder. You can then try to adapt your leadership to where the employee is on the stress ladder (figure 2).

By having a close dialogue, and by being aware of your adapted leadership, you can often help your employee so that the employee can continue to create value for the workplace and potentially avoid a sick leave.
