Insurance on death

Financial security in the event of death

Make sure your survivors receive a tax-free lump sum in the event of your death through Euro Accident’s Insurance on death.

Our insurance in the event of death can provide your survivors with financial security, so that they e.g. can stay in their home.

  • The cover is paid out as a tax-free lump sum
  • You decide the beneficiary/beneficiaries
  • Financial security for your survivors

The insurance contains a compensation which is paid out in the event of the insured's death during the insurance period.

The amount of compensation can either be a fixed amount or follow your salary.

The beneficiary must contact Euro Accident, and then submit all necessary documents and information that Euro Accident needs in relation to processing the case and the payment.

Compensation paid out from the insurance policy is a tax-free lump sum. There may be a inheritance tax to the state on the compensation.

In the event of death, payment can be made to:

  • Your next of kin, unless a special beneficiary has been chosen

Next of kin

Payment of cover on death is made to the beneficiary.

If no particular beneficiary has been appointed, the cover on death is paid to the policyholder’s next of kin according to the provisions in section 105 a of the Danish Insurance Contract Act (Forsikringsaftaleloven).

If there is no next of kin according to the provisions in section 105 a of the Danish Insurance Contract Act (Forsikringsaftaleloven), the cover on death is paid to the estate according to the provisions in section 105 b of the Danish Insurance Contract Act (Forsikringsaftaleloven).

Special beneficiary

You can give Euro Accident written notice if you want one or more special beneficiaries to be inserted.

To insert a special beneficiary, we recommend that you talk to your intermediary.

You can purchase the insurance if you:

  • are between 16 and 66 years of age
  • live and are registered as a resident of Denmark
  • have a right to claim benefits from the Danish public social security benefits

The insurance can be purchased up until the day you turn 66 years of age.

The insurance can be taken out as an individual or via a company insurance agreement.

The insurance can be taken out from 16 up to and including 66 years, and is valid up to and including the month in which you turn 67 years old.

The price depends on which agreement is used, the size of the cover and whether it is taken out as individual insurance or through a company.
